Enrolment & Payments

Enrolment

• Enrolment applications are to be submitted online.

• Mid-term enrolments are accepted and billed on a pro-rata basis.

Payments & Tuition

• Private lessons are billed monthly on a subscription basis. Group lessons are billed per term.

• All lesson fees and bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable, under all circumstances, including illness, personal emergencies, travel, change of mind, or other unforeseen events. This ensures fair and consistent scheduling for all students.

• Fees for private lessons are based on the number of weeks in the month. If a month has 5 weeks, fees will be prorated accordingly.

• Payment must be made via card attached on file or other approved methods.

• A $55 annual registration fee applies to all students. This fee is non-refundable and covers administrative services, studio resources, challenges, and events.

• Fees for group lessons are due before the term begins, and fees for private lessons are due before the 7th of each month. Late payments will incur a $15 late fee, which will be charged automatically.

• Chronically late payments may result in increased fees or forfeiture of the student’s lesson slot.

• If fees are not received on time, Piano Way Studio reserves the right to suspend lessons until the balance is paid.

• In the event of non-payment, Piano Way Studio may take action to recover the debt, including any legal or administrative costs, which will be the responsibility of the student/guardian.

Missed Lessons & Make-Up Policy

Private 1-1 Lessons

• You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance via the Student/Parent Portal if you cannot attend a lesson. Late cancellations or no-shows are considered a no-show and cannot be made up.

• Rescheduling is available for private lessons, but we encourage minimising cancellations.

Private Pair Lessons

• Notify the studio at least 2 weeks in advance if you cannot attend. Rescheduling is subject to agreement with the other student.

Group Lessons

• No make-up lessons or credits are provided for missed group lessons.

• Group lessons are billed in advance and cannot be refunded or rescheduled.

• If a regular group teacher is unavailable, a qualified substitute teacher will lead the class, and lessons will proceed as scheduled. In some cases, a minor schedule adjustment may be made to ensure the lesson proceeds smoothly.

Make-Up Credits

• Make-up credits issued by the studio must be used within six (6) months of issuance and cannot be refunded, transferred, or extended.

• Make-up lessons is offered throughout the year subject to teacher availability, but cannot be guaranteed.

• If a teacher cancels a private lesson, make-up credits will be provided for students to reschedule.

Termination of Lessons

• To discontinue private lessons, you must provide four (4) weeks’ written notice via email to admin@pianoway.com.au. All cancellations are subject to the minimum term commitment.

Practice, Recitals & Lesson Materials

• Home Practice: Regular practice is essential for progress. Beginners should aim for 30 minutes/day, intermediate 1 hour/day, and advanced 2 hours/day, at least 4 days per week. Even short daily practice sessions, piano games, or theory work support steady growth. Playing for family and friends is encouraged.

• Recitals & Concerts: Attending concerts and participating in recitals will support your musical development. Students will have opportunities to perform at studio recitals.

• Lesson Materials: Worksheets will be provided during lessons. Piano books are billed separately. Please bring your piano folder, books, a pencil, and an eraser to each lesson.

• Photo & Video Release: By enrolling, you consent to Piano Way Studio photographing, recording video/audio, or capturing images for educational, archival, promotional, and marketing purposes, including our website and social media. Only first names will be used unless otherwise approved. Written notice must be provided to withhold consent.

• Commitment: By commencing lessons, you commit to supporting your child’s practice at home and engaging in regular learning and piano practice.

Child Safety & Liability

• Teachers supervise children only during scheduled lesson time within the classroom. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children before and after lesson time, including arrival, waiting, and departure. Please ensure students are dropped off and picked up promptly. The studio is not responsible for children outside of scheduled lesson times.

• Piano Way Studio accepts no liability for injuries sustained by students outside lesson time or by minors, siblings, friends, or family visiting the studio.

• Parents/guardians must notify the studio of any life-threatening or serious medical conditions for students under 18.

Invoices & Payments

• Any issues or changes regarding invoices must be addressed before the scheduled payment date.

• Lesson fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under all circumstances, including illness, personal emergencies, travel disruptions, or other unforeseen events.
